Rules and regulations are changing when it comes to immigration and enforcement. It can be difficult and frightening for people to understand where the government stands on issues relating to immigration.
This leaves a lot of people, especially immigrants who may be deported, in a situation which they have very little control over. You or a loved one may be in this situation and should understand what to do if you're ever detained and facing deportation.
While the situation is confusing and difficult, there are rules and regulations that guide immigration officers and courts in their proceedings. That means that you aren't totally subjected to the will of the courts- there are guidelines that everyone follows.
The first thing to worry about is getting your loved one out. To do that, you'll need to understand immigration bail bonds in New Hampshire.
The regulation of bail bonds varies a little bit from state to state, and those subtleties should be discussed with your immigration lawyer.
Finding a lawyer is the first thing that you should do in a situation where a person has been detained. They'll be able to help you locate your loved one if there's any confusion as to where they are. Additionally, they'll understand the legalities of your specific situation.
Once you've located your loved one and consulted with a lawyer about how to proceed, it's time to start thinking about getting them out of detention. The amount of bail will be set by the immigration judge after they've consulted with the person in custody.
The determination will be based on the severity of the crime and the judge's discretion. After that, you'll know what is needed to get them out of detention. There are two bail bond options that you'll have access to. We'll discuss them both in a little detail next.
1. Getting a Delivery Bond
A delivery bond is going to be useful in order to get your loved one out of detention so you can see them and discuss what you're going to do next.
Essentially, delivery bonds allow people to be released under the condition that they will show up to any and all court hearings. Should they fail to do this, they are immediately detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and bail is forfeited.
The court will require that there is an arrest warrant and that ICE gives a statement of the custody conditions.
2. Getting a Voluntary Departure Bond
A voluntary departure bond is one that allows a person to leave the country on their own dime. If they have the means, they can get this kind of bond and leave the country within a specific time period.
Once they have left the country they can apply to have the cost of the bond refunded. This takes away any need for the detainee to be forcibly removed from the United States.

Just wanted to thank you and your colleges for your good work on bailing out my wife. I found you guys on the internet and had reservations about this whole process, with it being much more complicated than a regular bail bond. Your company does know what they are doing and your insurance company is properly liscensed to perform Immigration bonds as referenced on the Dept. of Justice's list of certified surety companies. Everyone was quick to take my calls, answer my questions and respond to my emails. Just wanted to say thanks and hope that everything concludes happily for me and my family.
I'm sorry it has taken so long to write to you, but life has been very hectic since we last spoke. I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate all your help and support during the time I was going through the process of obtaining an Immigration Bond. This was all new to me and as you know, it was also very stressful for me. But you were very patient with me, and guided me through all the steps of the process to a successful conclusion. No matter how many times I called you, you always took the time to help me and I never felt rushed or pressured. I'm sure you give this wonderful service to all your clients and I hope they appreciate you as much as I do. I hope to never have the need for this type of service again, but I will never forget your kindness and empathy. Many, many "Thanks" and "Good Luck" to you in all you do.
