Your Guide to Immigration Bonds Nevada

Being detained by ICE can be a terrifying and confusing experience.

Thankfully the Departments of Justice and Homeland security have clear rules relating to the posting of immigration bonds.

Many people though have no idea how to pay an immigration bond.

Follow this easy guide to figure out if your loved one is eligible and discover how to make payment.

Confirm Bond Eligibility

Before you try to get an immigration bond together you should confirm that your friend or relative is in custody and eligible for a bond. Many factors can affect an individual’s eligibility for a bond. These include:

  • Criminal history
  • Ties to the U.S.
  • Employment status

Total ineligibility is less common than a larger bond requirement. As a rule though if you have any convictions for drug offenses or serious criminal acts, you will be ineligible. This is also true if you were detained by ICE/DHS while trying to enter the U.S. at the border.

Other factors will mostly affect the price of your bond. The minimum bond amount you should expect is $1,500.

The Immigration Bail Bond Nevada Process

It's important to understand who can and cannot make payment on an immigration bond. To pay a detainee's immigration bond you must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Immigration bonds must be paid in person. You'll have to be able to prove your legal status to ICE when you appear to make payment. Acceptable documents include a social security card, U.S. passport, or permanent resident card.

You will need to contact ICE the day before you go to pay the bond and provide specific information. This includes the detainee's name, ID number, and the bond amount. The official will then confirm that the detainee will be released if you pay the bond.

Paying an Immigration Bond

In order to pay an immigration bond, you must be able to provide either the full amount of the bond or go through a bail bondsman.

Full Payment

If you have enough funds available to cover the full amount of the bond you can make payment directly to ICE. You need to check beforehand to get the exact bond amount and discover what forms of payment ICE accepts.

ICE no longer accepts cash or checks for immigration bond payments. The most effective way to pay an immigration bail bond is using a certified check made out to the Department of Homeland Security.

Bail Bondsman

If you are unable to put up the full amount for an immigration bond a bondsman is your best bet. Immigration bondsmen are similar to traditional bail bondsmen, but they specialize in immigration bonds.

Once you meet with a bondsman you will need to determine what kind of bond you need. The two most common bonds are delivery bonds and voluntary departure bonds.

Once this is determined you can reach an agreement, set up a payment plan, and provide collateral for the bond.

Stay Positive

Having a friend or relative detained can seem like the end of the world. As long as you stay calm and remember how to pay an immigration bond you will likely see them sooner than you could believe.

What Our Clients Say About Us

Just wanted to thank you and your colleges for your good work on bailing out my wife. I found you guys on the internet and had reservations about this whole process, with it being much more complicated than a regular bail bond. Your company does know what they are doing and your insurance company is properly liscensed to perform Immigration bonds as referenced on the Dept. of Justice's list of certified surety companies. Everyone was quick to take my calls, answer my questions and respond to my emails. Just wanted to say thanks and hope that everything concludes happily for me and my family.

I'm sorry it has taken so long to write to you, but life has been very hectic since we last spoke. I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate all your help and support during the time I was going through the process of obtaining an Immigration Bond. This was all new to me and as you know, it was also very stressful for me. But you were very patient with me, and guided me through all the steps of the process to a successful conclusion. No matter how many times I called you, you always took the time to help me and I never felt rushed or pressured. I'm sure you give this wonderful service to all your clients and I hope they appreciate you as much as I do. I hope to never have the need for this type of service again, but I will never forget your kindness and empathy. Many, many "Thanks" and "Good Luck" to you in all you do.
